As part of Renishaw’s ongoing commitment to product development, they are beginning a program to make older technology spindle probes obsolete. As of June 2007 the MP7, MP8, MP9 and MP10 products are no longer available for sale. The  latest generation replacement for the probes is Renishaw’s OMP60. This product has a higher specification and more robust design than its predecessor’s. 

5-Year Service and Support

Renishaw will offer a 5-year service/support policy for MP7, MP8, MP9 and MP10 spindle probes. Official support for these products will cease June 2012. For the first three years after official obsolescence Renishaw will provide customers with RBE (Repair by Exchange) replacements for these products. Please note, RBE availability may be affected by; stock quantities, piece part availability and market legislation. When exact replacements for MP7-MP10 become unavailable, OMP60 will be the exclusive product used for support.
